| The golf course was originally a sand course, established in 1976, which has been transformed from barren desert to luscious grass fairways 22 years later.
It is an oasis of color, with scenic lakes, fountains and indigenous wild birds inhabiting this beautifully manicured course.
Set within the circumference of both stunning grass and sand horseracing tracks, the golf course is an intriguing course of nine holes that offers nightly flood lighting and different tee positions, creating an 18-hole, par 70, 6,395-yard little gem.
Challenges of water come into play on four of the nine holes, with testing dog-legs left and right and an enormous par five, 630-yard eighth hole, where skillfully designed water hazards cross the fairway and immediately come into play.
Surprisingly for a nine-hole course, there are only two par threes, namely the fourth and the seventh hole. |

| The 9 Holes |
| |
Hole 1 - City Start - Par 4 - 385/330 - Stroke Index 5
A gentle opening hole, that requires an accurate drive, ideally down the right half of the Fairway, to give the best access to the well guarded Green. Avoid the out-of-bounds and the well-positioned bunkers on this Hole, and you should record a steady start. |
Hole 2 - Par 4 - 410/365 - Stroke Index 1
As the name suggests, a Hole that presents danger on both the Tee-Shot and the approach shot. A very narrow fairway with out-of-bounds left and water right, runs into water at around 240 yards. A good lay-up Tee-Shot will leave around 170 Yards over water, and a large bunker guarding the Green. A par here feels like a birdie! |
Hole 3 - Academy- 390/345 - Par 4 -Stroke Index 6
A generous Fairway on this sweeping Dogleg left offers the chance to open the shoulders a little. Longer hitters will be able to carry the Fairway Bunkers guarding the corner of the Dogleg leaving a short approach in. Shorter hitters will have to carefully plot their way down the Hole. |
Hole 4 - Tough Tier - 160/140 - Par 3 Stroke Index 8
The Course's first Par 3 presents a tougher challenge than first appears. A wide opening to the Greens gives straightforward access to the Putting Surface, but bunkers right and left will catch any off target Tee Shots. A large Tier running across the middle of the Green makes Club selection crucial to leave you an easy birdie Putt. |
| |
Hole 5 - Risk and Reward - 420/325 - Par 4 - Stroke Index 3
A long dogleg right with waste land curving all the way down the right hand side of the hole. Longer hitters can opt to try and cut off the corner of the Dogleg from the Tee, leaving a much shorter approach to the Green. However, a short or right Tee Shot will leave you in a lot of trouble! |
Hole 6 - Grandstand View - 320/290 - Par 4 - Stroke Index 9
A great little dogleg right, with the Green tucked into a peninsula surrounded by water, bunkers and thick rough. A Tee Shot that requires precision will leave around 100 yards over the corner of a large lake to a well guarded undulating putting surface. Par is never a bad Score on this hole. |
Hole 7 - Dead Aim - 186/145 - Par 3 - Stroke Index 7
A very demanding Par 3 for those Players going for the Green, which is well guarded by Water short and right and by Out of Bounds long a left. Golfers playing safely should look to lay up short and left of the Green leaving a straightforward chip on to the Putting Surface and avoiding a potential card wrecker. |
Hole 8 - Long Slog - 630/580 - Par - Stroke Index 2
One of the longest and toughest holes in the UAE. The Hole is flanked by Out of Bounds down the left side of the Hole, with Water merging into the right side and across the Fairway half way down the 630 yard monster. This Hole calls for a balance between long hitting and accuracy to record a Par. |
Hole 9 - tin cup - 338/298 - par 4 - stroke index 4
Ignore the misleading yardage on this Hole - it is very testing! A carefully placed Tee Shot here, ideally short and left of the large pond on the right side of the Fairway, will leave a short to mid Iron into to a devilishly difficult Green. Located just over the Pond, the Green slopes severely from back to front, meaning anything slightly short will roll back to meet a watery death. A great finishing Hole that will leave you with a memory of the Abu Dhabi City Golf Club - one way or another. |
